What Larry Couldn't See
After two weeks on the road without selling a single cardboard box, Larry was dejected. He wondered if he was doing something important with his life. If no one wanted what he was selling, maybe he was in the wrong business.
Larry's next stop was a town called Watkins. The people in the town loved his plain cardboard boxes. Larry was surprised and sold every box. When he left, he asked the mayor of Watkins why everyone liked them so much.
Mayor Willis replied, “Sir, don't you see? You didn't just sell cardboard boxes. You gave that young man a way to imagine traveling through time. That little girl sees it as a space ship. And that woman over there now has a platform for her plays. You provided more than cardboard boxes, sir. You offered opportunities for creativity, imagination, and dreams.”
